Selling Meat to Bless Others

On Saturday, May 17th, the Men’s Club at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church organized a barbecue fundraiser where proceeds went to support Christian Friends of New Americans.

With the leading of Rev. Dr. Stanish Stanley, volunteers from Christ Memorial, Faith Oakville, Webster Gardens, Ascension, Resurrection, St. Paul’s Lutheran, and Reformation gathered early on Saturday morning to set up, box, and sell Kenrick’s meat and an assortment of side dishes.

In addition to the tasty chicken and ribs sold, several ladies – including Kelly Teuscher, Sheryl Mattes, Gayle Shehan, Tracy Sheahan, and Ellen Sheahan – baked goods for a free-will offering.

In response to why he finds it important to support CFNA, Larry from the Christ Memorial Men's Club said, "We do these barbecues to bless a ministry that is doing important work for our Lord's Kingdom. We appreciate what you do at CFNA and are happy to be a support to your ministry."

In addition, a CFNA-supported volunteer, Gentil from the Congo, had this to say: "This church is big and is doing such a good thing to serve the people and help other people. I saw their health center ministry and now I see the men of the church helping with the Barbecue. I like it."

In total, over 2,000 dollars was raised through this fundraiser. We thank God for the Men’s Club and volunteers who came to help, and for Ed and Juliane Luhmann who wrote an Action Grant to support this event
